YDP

Artist-in-Residence

Harit Srikhao

Residency

01.09 – 23.11.25
YDP

YDP will host the inaugural artist-in-residence, Harit Srikhao, from September to November 2025.

Srikhao is a visual artist interrogating inherent relations in the composition of image making. His practice focuses on the dilemma of photography, of being a subject and of being the subject performing the act of capturing—the dichotomy in front of, and behind, the lens. For Srikhao, photography functions as a device to address the delay in understanding, coming to terms with, and examining the conditions of his position within the world. His works encompass photographic diaries of moments and staged setups where fictions are interwoven with facts.

While in residence at YDP, Srikhao will expand his research into theatrical storytelling and the history of using dolls, puppets and marionettes. He intends to collaborate with local makers towards realising a new body of work, which weaves together fictional narratives with the real-life tale of the 2018 Tham Luang cave rescue, and illuminates surreal inner and physical landscapes. During the residency, Srikhao will display drawings and research materials, and host a performative screening of previous films. The residency will culminate with an Open Studio event in November, where the artist will share his research and progress to date.
